Pupil Council

Our Pupil Council plays a vital role in shaping the life and work of our school. Made up of pupils from P4–P7, elected by their peers, the Council meets regularly to discuss ideas and drive forward improvements that matter most to our learners.

Pupil voice is at the heart of everything they do. Council members gather views from across the school through suggestion boxes in each zone, ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to be heard. They then work together to prioritise ideas, focusing on achievable and meaningful changes.

Selected ideas are taken forward to our SLT & Biscuits sessions, where pupils present and champion their proposals while enjoying a well-earned treat. Following discussion, the Pupil Council makes decisions on which initiatives will be taken forward.

This year, the Council have approved a number of successful initiatives, including a Hillside Diversity Day, purchasing left-handed hockey sticks, and planting flowers in the nature garden—all helping to make our school a more inclusive, engaging and vibrant place to learn.

Through their leadership, teamwork and commitment, the Pupil Council ensures that every voice can make a difference.
